PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Arden Theatre Company is bringing their artistic excellence directly to school children.
"There are so many students here who have so many vibrant ideas and are really excited about things. It's so awesome to...help them experience their possibilities, their own creativity," said Abby Weissman, Teaching Artist for Arden Theatre Company.
The "Arden for All" program is hosted in their classrooms, taught by professionals in the theater business.
The goal is to enrich their lives, and help build their imagination.
"There's two pieces to it. One of them is in-classroom workshops that are theater and literacy related, and then the other is going to see performances at the Arden Theater...A lot of the schools that we're going into are under-resourced in one way or another." said Weissman.
"Specifically designed to serve communities in Philadelphia, largely communities of color, in regions of the city that do not necessarily have access to the arts...We're creating a city in which there are adults who are expressing themselves and supporting the arts or becoming artists themselves," she continued.
